"Terroir"  What is it?  The French claim that everything about a particular site; the soil type, drainage, aspect, slope, rainfall, sunshine hours, heat summation, chosen variety, clone and training methods; all combine to create a unique flavour in the wine made from that site.

Do we have terroir in Tasmania?  ABSOLUTELY.  At Coombend, look for mandarin and orange blossom in the white wines, violet perfumes and soft textures in the pinot noir and smoke, tobacco and cassis in the Cabernets.
